Michael Halterman, the husband of Amy Slaton, and Amy are divorcing and going their separate ways.
According to the court documents, Halterman, who is 40 years old, filed for divorce from the 1000-Lb. Sisters star on March 13 in the state of Kentucky.
The show on TLC had previously filmed the former couple’s wedding, which took place in 2019, but they initially wed in a secret ceremony in 2017.
The petition for divorce was submitted a little over six months after the couple became parents to their second child, Glenn Allen Halterman, as Slaton revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. Their son, who was delivered by cesarean section on July 5 and weighed 5 pounds 11 ounces and measured 17.5 inches at birth, was a boy.
“The long-awaited moment has finally arrived… We are overjoyed to share the news that Michael and I have been blessed with a son. His name is Glenn Allen Halterman “Slaton, who was 35 at the time, told PEOPLE about the incident. “The delivery went extremely well, and I am now the proud mother of both of my miraculous babies; our family is complete!”
In the most recent episode of “1000-Lb. Sisters,” Slaton gushed over her baby child and how much he resembles both of his parents, Halterman and herself.
She remarked, “My heart is overflowing.” “When I was a little girl of five years old, I had the dream of becoming a mother, and I’ve always wanted to have two children. Now that everyone is here, our family is complete. Now that we are finished, you can place us in a picture frame and hang us on the wall.”
Slaton is also the mother of boy Gage Deon Halterman, whom she and Halterman welcomed in November of 2020. In addition to Glenn, Slaton is a mother to Gage Deon Halterman.
